Website Creation
Design Process

Initial Contact- We will have a phone conference to ensure we can provide exactly what you want and to prepare for our consultation meeting.

Consultation-. If you are located in the Charleston area we will meet with you to get your goals, vision for the way the site will look, what you want to have on the site, to disucss all the aspects to having a successful website, to establish any other needs you may need, and to start the process to launch your business on the world wide web. If you are out of the immediate area we may arrange a paid face to face consultation or we can have this meeting over various communication methods such as phone, email, and skype.
Coming out of the consultation we want to have at least the following things established:
1. Site Goals
2. Complete understanding of the company and its' purpose.
3. Navigation requirements
4. Advertising/Marketing needs
5. An estimated project timeline
6. An Estimated site cost

Website Creation- Once we have established all the different aspects and purposes for your site Thompson Web Development will begin designing your website. We will send you over layouts to review via email to get a general feel for what you are more looking for in specifics and then begin site creationg. During the site creation we will be in constant communication with you to ensure the site is what you want and to make the process as quick as possible. It is imperative that you remain in contact with us providing us feedback and getting any content we need to us if you want your site to be developed quickly. A large portion of the site creation time is created because of delayed client response to questions and feedback. We will host your site on a subdomain name during the creation process so you can see exactly what it looks like and will have a very clear view of what the site will look like when it is done.

Pre-Launch Once the site has been reviewed by you we will purchase your domain name, set up your hosting, establish your email accounts, perform any extra services and prepare for site launch.

Site Launch- Then we will send you an email to perform a final review on the site and approve it to be launched to your domain name. Once you give us the approval for launch we will set up the site for your domain name, delete the temporary domain name, send out emails announcing the launch, add it to our site, send a press release to local publications, post about the site launch on social media sites, and launch any advertising campaigns we previously discussed during the consultation meeting and creation of your website.

Performance Review- After the site has been live for a month we will review the site to see if there are any changes that would help it perform better in the market, analyze the traffic and feedback on the site and propose suggestions for better performance if there are any.

**Please note that all new clients must sign a contract for your protection and ours. A 50% deposit is also due once the consultation meeting is conducted. If you request to cancel our services within the first 10 hours of work we will refund the deposit. Once we cross the 10 hour mark, we assume you are happy with our services at this point and you intend to complete the design with Thompson Web Development.

Website Maintenance

On Call Webmaster- We provide an "on-call-webmaster" service to our clients. What this means is that if you decide that you need any content, pictures, or even a page redesigned/added to your site all you have to do is call or email us.  This provides you the ability to have changes made when you add a service, cancel a product, or have a change of staff and you need that information put out to the public. Unlike other companies we do not charge you a monthly fee or a yearly fee for maintenance. A lot of web companies will charge anywhere from $100 to $500 a month for maintenance of websites, regardless if any work is performed for the client.  If you would like for us to post things to your site regurarly for SEO purposes and to make your site appear always "fresh," we can discuss different prices for that. If you prefer to submit content for change as you want, it is a pay per change rate. . We offer you the option to pay per hour or per transaction (e-mail/group of changes).  This is further discussed during the initial consultation.

Do It Yourself- We also offer a "do-it-yourself" option for maintenance. For $25 a month you can edit your own site. The software we use to allow you to do this is very simple and is no different than writing an email or blog. This allows ANYONE to edit their own site. Along with getting the ability to edit your own site we can also provide extra reports and analysis on your site. This option is viable for people who will be making daily or several changes a week. This will allow you to help your costs stay down and not have to send multiple emails to us ot make the changes for you.

Please note that in order to have a successful site that moves up the Google rankings, establishes return visitors, draws profitable traffic to your site, and much more it is extremely important to have a site that is constantly update and monitored. The path to having a successful site is not just creating a good site and putting it on the internet. A site must be constantly updated and compared against industry standards in order to be competitive in their industry and stay active on Google. So, regardless if you make changes or we make changes if you intend to draw clients or sales from your site you MUST update it someway on a weekly, bi-weekly, or at a minimum monthly rate.
